Dr. Daniel Krook Wants to Give People Their Smile Back

A native of West Des Moines, IA, Dr. Daniel Krook has been caring for patients at Dentistry At Somerset in Ames since 2018. He earned his undergraduate degrees in biology and accounting at the University of Iowa. He then completed a master’s degree in biomedical sciences in Miami before attending dental school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, FL, and Erie, PA. Dr. Krook gained additional experience at a hospital-based dental residency program in Reading, PA.

After living on the East Coast for six years, he is happy to be back in Central Iowa near his family. Currently, he is pursuing post-graduate education with the Kois Center in Seattle, WA.

Patients appreciate how Dr. Krook educates them not only on treatment needed, but why it’s important. His friendly manner puts patients at ease and makes them feel confident in the dental chair. He’s passionate about alleviating patient anxiety, restoring smiles, and stopping dental pain.

What Dr. Krook loves about being a dentist is the privilege of serving people on a daily basis. Much like Dr. Niegsch, Dr. Krook has a spirit of service and generosity and enjoys providing treatment to those in need. He has participated in many dental charity events such as Smiles for FREEdom and Mission of Mercy events. During his residency in Reading, PA, Keystone Farmworker Health Program recognized his work in providing free dental screenings and treatment for children who had no access to dental care.

Away from the dental practice, Dr. Krook stays active by riding his bike, kayaking, and playing hockey. He also enjoys working on home improvement projects, cooking, watching sports, live music, and spending time with his family and friends. Dr. Krook looks forward to providing care to the Ames community for years to come.
