Meet the Doctors

Dr. Jason Niegsch, DDS, FAGD

For nearly 20 years Ames dentist, Dr. Jason Niegsch, has been serving patients and exceeding their expectations. Dr. Niegsch is one of the most highly trained general dentists in the state of Iowa. Patients travel long distances to see Dr. Niegsch. He is the only Ames, Iowa dentist who has achieved Fellowship status with the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Niegsch continues his post-graduate education with the Kois Center for Restorative Excellence in Seattle, WA and is a Graduate and Mentor for their program.He is highly trained in Temporomandibular Joint Disorders and many patients are referred to him from all over the state of Iowa for treatment.For over 10 years Dr. Niegsch has also been providing clear orthodontics and patients are thrilled with their life-changing results.

Dr. Niegsch is committed to giving back to Ames and surrounding communities. For many years he has supported the Story County United Way, Ames Youth & Shelter Services, the Ames Emergency Residence Project, the Iowa Chapter of the American Heart Association – Go Red for Women, Veterans services, as well as local schools and churches. One of the core values of our office is GENEROSITY, to be generous with our time, talents, and resources. Dr. Niegsch leads the team with this philosophy.

As the father of four kids, Charlie, Ben, Joe and Mollie, Dr. Niegsch enjoys time outside of work coaching his kids’ sports teams, going to their games, spending time outdoors hiking and fishing, running, golfing, and traveling. His wife, Marcie, helps to provide community outreach for the office around managing their busy family of six. Ben Niegsch, Dr. Niegsch’s 8-year-oldson has Down syndrome, so it’s a passion for the Niegsch family to provide awareness and support for those of all abilities.

Dr. Niegsch received his undergraduate and dental degrees from the University of Iowa. After college he followed in his dad’s footsteps and enlisted in the US Navy, where he served as an active duty dentist in Japan and Chicago, IL. It’s a priority for Dr. Niegsch to take care of our military service members.




Dr. Daniel Garman, DDS

Dr. Daniel Garman of Ames, helps all our patients immediately feel at ease with his gentle nature and genuine care. Before joining Dentistry At Somerset in Ames, Dr. Garman practiced in Spencer, Iowa which is near his hometown of Algona, Iowa. Dr. Garman loves the Ames community and looks forward to serving Story County patients for years to come. As a father of two little girls Dr. Garman enjoys caring for children’s dental needs. Patients of all ages appreciate the way he makes dental care easy and comfortable.

Dr. Garman has established himself as a leader among his peers. He graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa in both his undergraduate and dental school programs. He gained additional experience treating pediatric patients during his final year of dental school by completing a 5-week rotation at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In addition, he has received advanced training in implant dentistry at the Zimmer Institute in Carlsbad, California. In addition to general dentistry, Dr. Garman provides clear orthodontics for his patients using Invisalign.

Dr. Garman’s pride and joy is his family. He’s been married to his wife, Kara, for 6 years and they have two beautiful daughters, Amara and Jordyn. Dr. Garman is dedicated to giving back to the community through volunteerism and charity – this is one of the main reasons why he chose to move his family to Ames. He’s passionate about serving the people and communities of Story County. When not helping patients, Dr. Garman enjoys all sports. He especially loves golfing and running.
